Post 4: Cultural shock

Culture shock in an anthropological term can be explain like a “state of anxiety and frustration resulting from the immersion in a culture distinctly different from one's own” this can be caused by the the inability to understand new patterns of cultural behavior, symbols, and expressions present in the new social setting.
So in few words is when we dont understand the meaning of symbols of the other culture.
I had a experience of "cultural shock" when I went to Indonesian.
This country have a culture completly different of our occidental culture in many ways.
One of this is the bargaining, and was very difficult to me get used of this. All my life I paid for a fixed price, sometimes you can have a discount but is not usually. But in Indonesia all is haggling. Always when I needed buy something like food, toilet paper, water and basic things or take a taxi, a tour, or whatever, I had to negotiate.
The first days, of course I was dupe, because nobody told me the economic system in this country were so hard, but after, I  felt like an expert, and was fun for a short time. But after week was terrible…I didn't buy anything and I prefered walk for hours and not pay a taxi. In the end of day I felt exhausting!
My brain always think about the haggling: “be careful” “you can get a lower Price” “still haggling” “he lie, is not that expensive”…But luckily for me, they had "aussie" business, a little more expensive but sometimes help me.
Of course, not all bad, many times I I got good prices.
